Thomas Lee Caldwell

Mr. Thomas Lee Caldwell, son of the late Fred and Mary Morrison Caldwell, was born on August 15th, 1926 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Thomas received his education in the Charlotte Mecklenburg school system. At an early age, he received Christ, and later attended and became a member of Steel Creek A.M.E Zion Church. His strong belief and faith in God would guide him throughout his journey on this earth. Thomas was married to the late Maggie Tidwell Caldwell, and with this Union they were blessed with six children. He was a loving and devoted husband for over (50) years, and a father who's love for his children knew no bounds. Mr. Caldwell worked for Mecklenburg County for thirty years, ran a successful lawn service, and worked many years at Paul B. Quinn Gulf service station in an effort to support the needs of an ever growing family, and through his strong work ethic, he would become an outstanding example of a true family man for his children and their children, and even close friends. Thomas loved to be outdoors he was an avid hunter, and loved tending to his garden. Those who knew him well were fortunate to taste his luscious red tomatoes, and a slew of other "responsibly grown" and well maintained vegetables. Being a person filled with joy and love, Thomas made a friend where ever he went. He was the rock of his family, and a true patriarch, who strived to provide a solid foundation for those he loved. On May 5, 2015 God came to Thomas, and requested that Thomas to come join him in the great undiscovered land where we all hope to someday join him. Mr. Thomas Lee Caldwell was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Maggie Tidwell Caldwell; two daughters: Patricia Jackson, and Margaret Ruth Bailey; one granddaughter: Annette Marie McLeod Mr. Thomas Lee Caldwell leaves behind a plethora of immediate and extended family: Four daughters: Melissa Dixon, Betty Mcleod, Lisa C. Ellison, and Lovie Penn; one son: John T. Caldwell; two sisters: Inez C. Adams, Janie B. McLain (Malice Senior); one sister in law: Shirley Tidwell; three grandchildren: Donald McLeod, Betty Bailey, and Twan Bailey; two special nieces Wilene Potts, and Chyrel Adams; nine great grandchildren: Antonio Gaddy, Quinndarrius Mcleod, Quinton Gaddy, DeAndrea Gaddy, Adrian Mcleod, Jontez McLeod, Meondrea, Antoine Jetter, Alexander McManus, Nicole, and James Bailey; (10) great great grandchildren. And a host of Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
