Shandra Jamese Dumas

Shandra Rogers Dumas was born on July 17, 1977, to Roy and Judy Rogers in Florence, South Carolina. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, niece, aunt and friend. Shandra touched countless lives with her kindness, compassion and vibrant spirit. She was known for her unwavering love and devotion to her family and friends. Shandra received Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and began her relationship with God while attending Savannah Grove Baptist Church with her mother and grandmother in Effingham, S.C. Shandra continued her walk with Christ while attending church with her mother until her health began to decline. Shandra graduated from Olympic High School and was a dedicated member of the school’s band. She had the opportunity to travel to London to play at the Lord Mayor of Westminster’s parade on New Year’s Eve. Music has always been a passion of hers. Shandra was employed with Wells Fargo for well over 10 years. She began her career there as an Underwriter advancing through the years to Senior Quality Assurance Administrator. During her time there she worked on a team that traveled across the US helping to establish loans for new home owners. Helping others has always been a passion of Shandra’s and her professional and personal life are a testament to the young woman that she was- kind, caring, and compassionate. Above all else, Shandra was a loyal daughter, sister, niece, auntie, and friend. Her family and friends were everything to her. She was often at the center of planning family gatherings and events, truly the “hostess with the mostest”. She loved being a big sister and was the best “TT Man” to her 3 nephews. Shandra always had so much love to share with those in her life. On June 17, 2022, Shandra expanded the reach of her love and became the wife of Jermell Dumas, one of the happiest days of her life. She was a loyal friend who enjoyed traveling and attending concerts with her friends. Her zeal for life was palpable. Shandra is preceded in death by her grandparents, Fletcher and Annie Margaret Jones and Clara and Samuel Rogers. She is forever remembered with love by her husband, Jermell Dumas; mother Judy Rogers; father Roy Rogers; mother-in-law Susan Dumas; siblings Tobye Bristow of Darlington, S.C.; Brian (Sharickah) Rogers of Atlanta, G.A.; Anthony Rogers of Charlotte, N.C.; in-laws, Tommy and Stacie Dumas of Macon, Ga.; nephews Canaan, Callie, Anthony Jr., and Caleb, many loving aunts, uncles and a host of cousins. Shandra also leaves to mourn, her god family, Hazel, Mecia & Rukiya and lifetime friends, Demetrius, Ashley, and Tache.
