Rontrey Eric Digsby

Rontrey Eric Digsby, affectionately known as "Trey" “Lil Fred” or "Knot Knot" peacefully passed away on December 18, 2023, at Atrium Hospital in Charlotte, NC. He was 37 years old. Born on June 7, 1986, Rontrey was the cherished eldest child of Robin Sharlene Howard-Rucker and Frederick Lynn Alexander. He was preceded in death by his late maternal grandparents Ruby and George Digsby and paternal grandfather Frank Lynn Alexander. From his earliest years, Rontrey found solace and strength in his faith, embracing a close relationship with Christ. His educational journey spanned Hidden Valley Elementary, Marie G Davis Middle School, and Vance High School, laying the groundwork for his future endeavors. Rontrey's lifelong passion for automobiles was palpable. With innate talent and unwavering dedication, he immersed himself in the art of working on and crafting motor vehicles. In 2023, his pride soared as he established CYA Detailing, a venture dedicated to providing meticulous automobile detailing and home pressure washing services. Renowned for his laid-back nature and affectionate spirit, Rontrey had a remarkable knack for spreading joy. His infectious laughter had an uncanny ability to illuminate any space, and his knack for finding theperfect words could effortlessly bring a smile to anyone's face. During his leisure, he reveled in the joy of detailing, modifying, and racing motor vehicles, finding immense fulfillment in his passion within the community. Rontrey taught many to never allow any of life’s hindrances to prohibit you from achieving your wildest dreams. Rontrey leaves behind an indelible mark on the hearts of his family, friends, and the wider community. He is survived by his devoted parents, Robin Sharlene Howard-Rucker (Will Rucker) of Asheville NC and Frederick Lynn Alexander, Charlotte, NC paternal grandmother Mary Ann Alexander. his cherished daughter, Treasure Howard; sons Matthew Jackson & Ronjae Digsby; siblings Miracle Howard, LaVonda Mingo, Ruby Charleston, and Arnold “Bart.” Charleston; aunts Deandrea Mckinney (Thomas), Bridget Henderson (Tyrone), Pamela Alexander; uncle Ronald Digsby; and a multitude of cousins, family, and friends. Also, his longtime partner Chandra Clay. In celebrating Rontrey's life, let us cherish his infectious laughter, his passion for automobiles, and the warmth he bestowed upon all fortunate enough to cross his path. His absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will endure, forever treasured in our hearts.
