LAVONNE SHARIF

The life of Lavonne was one filled with love, spirituality, and legacy. God blessed this world with Lavonne on January 20, 1954 to the late Bernice Troupe and Rudy Troupe. As the first born her parents were elated with pride and joy. During her younger years she was often the caregiver and confidant to her siblings, Mack Troupe III (Peggy Troupe), Rudine Troupe, Annette Troupe, and Deborah Hough (Douglas) for which she continued a special bond with each of them throughout their adulthood. As she began to come into her own, she later met the love of her life, Lateef S. Sharif who later predeceased her in life. Through their union she was blessed with more family to love and loved her, mother and father in-law, Mary and Walter Osborne, sister in-laws, Tauheedah Jabbar (late Wali Jabbar) Pearle Steele (Callie Steele), and the late Alice Jones (late Garfield Jones) and Catherine Ford (late Howard Ford) and brother in-law, the late Walter Osborne (Patricia Osborne). Lateef and Lavonne love for each other was one full of promise and legacy as they gave life to four beautiful children; Sajada Windham, Quadisa Sharif who predeceased her in life, Lateef S. Sharif II (Tihisha Sharif), and Furquan Sharif. Shortly thereafter they relocated to Richmond, Virginia to raise their children. Following Lateef’s passing there were a lot of challenges presented to the family with such a huge loss, but through the years she never stopped praying, loving, and supporting her children. Her steadfast approach as a mom helped her dreams for her children come to fruition. The lives they created for themselves is a testament of her dedication to her family. Lavonne’s life purpose was caring for those in need. Whether this was a family member or a stranger off the street, she never turned anyone away. Even in her professional life as a home health nurse she always cared for her patients with love, care, and compassion. Although Christ was always present in her life, Lavonne joined Holy Faith Church where she was baptized and rededicated her life to God. Throughout her life, God was always at the forefront and whether it was in the physical presence of a church or in the comfort of her home, she made sure to feed her soul with the word of God. Upon retirement, Lavonne relocated to Concord, North Carolina to enjoy the latter years of her life. Lavonne enjoyed her time with her daily routines of watching tick tok in her favorite recliner chair, spending quality time with special friend Mr. Earl Franklin and just the pure enjoyment of speaking to and spending time with her children and grandchildren. The individual bonds she shared with each was unique and special. As the time has come for Lavonne to rest in the pearly gates of heaven with her Lord and Savior, she leaves behind a legacy to live on for generations to come through her children, grandchildren; Rudy Sharif, Malika Ford, Aaliyah Windham, Marcus Windham, Abu-Bakr Sharif, Lateef Sharif III, Najla Sharif, Ismail Sharif and Zakiyah Sharif and great-grandchildren; Tayneise Jones, Zyneira Jones-Sharif, Keshauni Jones-Sharif, Nazara Sharif, Nazell Sharif, Zakari Pryor, Zaiden Baldwin, Mariyah Windham, Armiyah Ruff and Azim Winbush. Lavonne will surely be missed but would want her loved ones to find comfort in knowing that God gave her what he promised her. As she may no longer be here in the physical, she will forever be that guardian angel watching over those she loves. Until we meet again, rest easy mommy your work here is done.
