Jerome Davis

Jerome Davis affectionately known as “Bone”. The Son of the late Bertha Mae Davis Porter and Calvin Steele Sr. was born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina on January 23, 1955 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Jerome departed his life surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his own home in Charlotte, North Carolina. Jerome attended West Charlotte High School class of 1972 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Jerome was employed for over 20 years with Stanley Trucking Company. Jerome retired as a Building Technician for Chappell Memorial Baptist Church. Jerome enjoyed fishing, race cars, drawing, enjoyed being the neighborhood watch, and loved football with his dedication to the Carolina Panthers. He served his community blessing them with his handyman service. At a young age, he was a baptized member at the House of Prayer in Charlotte, North Carolina. On June 23, 2018, Jerome was united in holy matrimony with his soulmate Joann Melton Davis. Jerome was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather to four generations. Jerome was adored by his family and he was always happier when he was surrounded by them. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his son Maurice Davis, two brothers James Davis and Tommy Davis of Charlotte, NC. Special Friends Robert Potts, Melvin Gieger, Marjorie Brewerton, and Markeenus aka (Pup) Renee Wilkerson He also leaves a great legacy to be loved by his Grandchildren and his Great-Grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 6 years and companionship for over 15 years, Joann Davis of the home, three sons Jerome Davis Jr, James Davis, Gregory Davis, Brian Melton, Montez Wilson of Charlotte, NC., one daughter Nancy Wilson (Clifton Hayden), of Charlotte, NC., three God daughters Shakia Geiger, Lynn Brooke, Keisha (Leon) Bryant of Charlotte, NC. He also leaves to cherish his fond memories his sisters Carolyn Cuffie, Cecilia Turner, Jewell (Kenny) Robinson of Charlotte, NC, one brother Calvin Steele of Charlotte, NC, mother-in-law. Celia Gray, father-in-law, Glenn Gray. He also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
