Jacqueline Yvonne Lindsay

Jacqueline Yvonne Lindsay, affectionately known as "Jackie," departed this life peacefully on May 30, 2026, with her devoted son and daughter-in-law by her side. Born on May 8, 1952, in Charlotte, NC, Jackie was the daughter of Myrtle and Paul Jackson and the second of eleven siblings. Though born in Charlotte, she was lovingly raised in Lancaster, SC, by her grandparents, Will and Birty Lindsay. Following her grandparents' passing, Jackie was raised by Creola and Lewis Johnson Sr., whom she lovingly referred to as "Grandma" and "Grandpa" and her aunt Gladys Harding back in Charlotte. Their guidance, love, and support remained a treasured part of her life's journey. Jackie attended Lancaster County Public Schools in her early years and graduated from West Charlotte High School. Upon graduation, she began a career in hospitality services, working in hotels throughout the Charlotte area. In June 1974, Jackie welcomed her greatest blessing, her son, Jonathan Lee Lindsay. He was the joy of her life and a continual source of pride. Jonathan's compassion, devotion, and unwavering support were evident until her final moments, and Jackie found great comfort in the love of her son and family. Jackie treasured the friendships she made at the Tyvola Senior Center and enjoyed spending time playing cards with family and friends. She also loved games of chance, especially trying her luck on the slot machines, which brought her much excitement and enjoyment. She was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and Paul Jackson and four brothers, Leonard, Paul, Jr. David Lee, and Melvin. Left to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her loving son, Jonathan, a devoted daughter in law, Nikita; her beloved grandchildren, Jonathan Evan and Kendall Patrise, whom she affectionately called her "heartbeats"; five sisters, Sylvia (James), Shirley, Barbara, Robin, Teresa (Tracey); one brother, Larry(Vera), one cousin raised like a brother, Lin, Creola, Louis and the entire Johnson family. She also shared a special and enduring relationship with Torian and Jewel Williams, united by their roles as parents and in-laws. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. The family finds comfort in knowing that Jackie has entered eternal rest and is now reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.
