Evan Bhagwandeen

With heavy hearts, yet anchored in faith, we celebrate the life of Evan Bhagwandeen, who entered eternal rest on February 16, 2026, at the age of 15. Born on November 13, 2010, Evan was a radiant light from the very beginning. To know her was to be loved by her. She never met a stranger — every person she encountered was immediately her friend. With her bright smile and open arms, she greeted the world with warmth, acceptance, and the kind of love that had no conditions. Many lovingly called her a “little koala bear,” because once she wrapped you in one of her tight, heartfelt hugs, she didn’t let go. And you didn’t want her to. Evan was deeply loved and deeply loving. As the cherished daughter of LaToya and Keshore, she grew up surrounded by devotion, protection, and guidance — and she reflected that love back into the world in her own beautiful way. She carried strength wrapped in softness, discipline balanced with tenderness. Evan loved openly and without reservation, embracing those closest to her with a whole heart. Evan held a deep connection with her mother, LaToya, whose love and encouragement helped shape the confident and compassionate young woman she was becoming. She also shared a special bond with her father, Keshore, whose quiet presence and unending affection meant so much to her. Evan found comfort, laughter, and strength alongside her siblings — Madriana, Amari, Royce, KJ, and Isaiah — who stood beside her through every season. Those relationships helped build her resilience, her courage, and the warmth she carried so naturally. At just two months old, Evan was diagnosed with early-onset seizures due to a genetic disorder. For the first several years of her life, her seizures were largely uncontrolled, resulting in frequent hospitalizations and cognitive and learning challenges that she courageously carried throughout her life. Though her journey was not easy, Evan faced it with strength, resilience, and a determined spirit. Evan was a joy in every classroom she entered. Teachers described her as a light — someone who brightened the atmosphere simply by being there. She was loved by her classmates and formed sweet friendships, including a special group of girls who chose to sit with her at lunch during her freshman year. She cherished them deeply. At church, Evan loved to sing and praise the Lord. She found joy in worship and delighted in being in the presence of God. At home, she enjoyed watching her favorite shows, spending time on her iPad, and being with her siblings, whom she loved dearly. Though her seizures increasingly limited what she could physically do, her heart remained full of love for her brothers and sisters, and they adored her in return. Evan shared meaningful bonds with those around her. She was deeply loved by her grandparents, who cherished celebrating her life through birthdays, holidays, and special traditions — especially the cultural foods she enjoyed. Her neighbors and dear family friends often spoke of the joy and light Evan brought into everyday moments. Those gatherings were filled with warmth and laughter. Evan is survived by her devoted mother, LaToya Creary; her father, Keshore Bhagwandeen; her siblings: Madriana Velasquez, Amari Bhagwandeen, Royce Bhagwandeen, K.J. Bhagwandeen, and Isaiah Bhagwandeen; her grandparents, Elseta Beckford Creary, Keshore Bhagwandeen Sr., and Lisa McDonald; as well as a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, church family, classmates, teachers, and friends who cherished her deeply. She was greatly loved. She will be greatly missed. And the void left by her absence is deeply felt. Yet we rejoice knowing that the little girl who loved to sing praises is now resting in the presence of the Lord she adored. Her hugs may no longer wrap around us physically, but her love will remain with us always.
