Charles E. Robinson

Mr. Charles E. Robinson, beloved son of the late Robert Robinson and Mary Katherine Robinson, and cherished grandson of the late Sim Reid and Mary A. Reid, was born on August 1, 1945, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at his home. Charles accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Little Rock AME Zion Church, where his faith remained a guiding force throughout his life. As a youth, he was an Eagle Scout and later graduated from West Charlotte High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. Charles lived a life rooted in simplicity, service, and routine. He worked various jobs throughout his life and, as a senior citizen, continued to serve others by delivering newspapers and distributing food at the senior living facility where he resided. Never one to stop learning, he later took computer classes and remained active by exercising regularly. He found joy in collecting pigeons and was well known for his thoughtfulness, especially for sending birthday cards and greeting cards throughout the year to family and friends. Charles enjoyed dining out, particularly savoring chicken meals, and relaxing with Western movies, Stephen King films, and boombox music. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, he rarely missed an opportunity to cheer for his favorite team. He also had a fondness for the color blue, which reflected his calm and steady nature. A man of strong faith, Charles was a dedicated member of Little Rock A.M.E. Zion Church. He faithfully attended Wednesday Bible study and proudly served as an usher, welcoming all with kindness and humility until his health declined. His devotion to God and service to his church family were central to his life. Charles leaves to cherish his memory his three daughters, Sheila Robinson, Rachelle, and Terasa; two sisters, Deborah McLendon and Brenda Robinson; two brothers, Robert Robinson (Freda) and Willie Robinson; his aunt, Helen Reid; his grandchildren; and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and a close friend Tim. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Donald Robinson and sister Katherine Elaine Boyd. Charles will be remembered for his quiet faith, gentle spirit, appreciation for life’s simple pleasures, and his sense of humor. He often said, “By the grace of God,” words that reflected the humility and gratitude with which he lived. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and his church family.
