Bryan Aaron Horton

Bryan Aaron Horton, age 59, of Iron Station, NC, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025. He was born on February 4, 1965, to the late Gladstone Horton and Bernice Richardson Horton of Charlotte, NC. Bryan’s life was filled with laughter, adventure, and love, and he touched the hearts of everyone he encountered. Bryan graduated from West Charlotte High School in 1980 and spent many of his younger years enjoying the simple pleasures that brought him the most happiness. Before creating his family later in life, Bryan’s first loves were a fishing pole and a bowling ball! Bryan was no stranger to a bowling alley. He shared many fun-filled evenings with friends having a competitive yet fun-spirited perfect game. An avid fisherman, Bryan could often be found by the water, casting his line in pursuit of the perfect catch. His love for the outdoors extended to his passion for grilling, where family and friends could always count on him for a delicious meal cooked to perfection. Whether it was a sizzling plate of fish, barbecued ribs, or a well-seasoned seafood boil, Bryan took great joy in bringing people together over a homemade meal. For him, food was more than just nourishment—it was a way to connect with others and create lasting memories. After a long shift at places like Lance, American Freight, and FedEx Freight, you could often find Bryan continuing to spread joy at his local Waffle House, engaging in conversation with anyone who came in. He had a unique personality that could light up any room, and his heart of gold made him a friend to everyone he met. Above all, Bryan’s greatest joy was his family. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Peggy, whose love and companionship were the foundation of his life for the past 26 years. Together, they have three children—Terry, Brittany, and Craven. Bryan is also survived by his older sisters, Wonderly Horton and Delphia Horton both of Charlotte, NC, as well as a host of aunts, nieces, a nephew, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews who he cherished deeply. Bryan was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and friend who would do anything for those he cared about. His warmth, kindness, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
