Bernice Stitt Jant

Mrs. Bernice Stitt Jant was born on June 21, 1941, to the late Annie McCall Stitt in Matthews, NC. Bernice was called home on Thursday August 14, 2025, at the Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center – Huntersville, North Carolina. Mrs. Bernice is the beloved matriarch of our family. Mrs. Bernice was a loving, caring, and kind-hearted woman whose warm spirit touched the lives of everyone she met. She possessed a unique ability to make each person feel truly loved and valued, never allowing anyone to simply feel seen. To us, Mrs. Bernice was our superwoman, our confidant, and a guiding light in our darkest moments. She provided a place of refuge, offering comfort, wisdom, and unwavering support to her family and friends. Her dedication to creating a loving home was unmatched; she worked tirelessly to ensure that her family felt cherished and secure. Mrs. Bernice's legacy will live on in the countless lives she impacted with her kindness and compassion. She taught us the importance of love, resilience, and the strength of family bonds. We will forever hold her memory close to our hearts, grateful for the many lessons she imparted and the love she shared so freely. Mrs. Bernice will be remembered for her warm heart, the love for her family and her amazing cooking. Mrs. Bernice had a passion for serving. She had some blessed hands; rather it was working in her yard and Planting Flowers, cooking or cleaning she could do it all. Mrs. Bernice was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, a worldwide fraternal, non-profit, charitable service organization, associated with Masonry. Bernice attended and was a member of Silver Mount Missionary Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina where she served on the Usher Board and prepared meals for the pastors. Mrs. Bernice will truly be missed. Her love will continue to shine brightly in our hearts! Mrs. Bernice was preceded in death by her loving husband Walter McCorkle; oldest granddaughter Toccoa (Tee) Jant; two brothers, June Stitt and William Stitt Mrs. Bernice is survived by her three children: two daughters, Annette Mance, of Statesville, NC and Patricia Wallace, of California; one son, James (Jr.) Jant, of Charlotte, North Carolina, one brother, Isaiah Stitt of Charlotte, North Carolina, seven grandchildren; Jackie Mance of Atlanta, Georgia; Sasha Wallace of Roseville, California; LaPorshae` Jant of Charlotte, North Carolina; Zachary Wallace of Roseville, California; Jessica Jant of Charlotte, North Carolina; Jada Jant of Charlotte, North Carolina and Tamra Moser of Statesville, North Carolina, four great grandchildren; Ja’Meir Ganzy, Isaiah Tate, Ariah Smith and Amiyah Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved her dearly
