Stephen Douglas Lewis

Stephen Douglas Lewis, son of the late John and Mattie Lewis, was born October 15, 1957 in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Stephen fought a good fight, being a two time lung cancer survivor. On February 8, 2019 at 3:05 pm, he lost his battle. Stephen completed his education in the Forsyth County School System in 1977. Stephen relocated to Philadelphia, PA, where he spent several years with his family. In the late 80’s, he returned back to Winston Salem. Several years later, he relocated to Charlotte, NC, where he met his wife (Jackie) and became a member of Greater Bethel AME Church, where he sang on the Men’s Choir. Stephen was not employed at the present time due to his illness. In 2002 Stephen worked for the Charlotte Bobcats as the personal assistant of Bob Johnson. Left to mourn his passing is his wife Jacqueline Lewis; three stepchildren Chandra Farrer, Rashard Farrer and Cinquay Farrer; loving mother-in-law Annie Davis (James-deceased); twelve grandchildren all from Charlotte, NC; twenty sisters and brothers John, Keith, Kenneth, Darry, Christopher (Deborah), Danny (Linda); Lorenzo (Donna), Earl (Olivia), Gerald Lewis (deceased), Shirley Timmons (Lewis-deceased), Betty Turner, Geraldine Woods (Kenneth-deceased), Melanie Martin (Monte), Josephine Truesdale, Sandra Mitchell, Johnnie Mae, (Peggy-deceased), Barbara Lewis (deceased), Linda James (deceased) all from Winston Salem, NC and Philadelphia, PA and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
