Oliver Lincoln Harris

Oliver Lincoln Harris transition from this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2017 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Lincoln was a member of the Franklin Street AME Zion Church in Kingston New York. Lincoln never met a stranger. Link was always friendly, cordial and kindhearted. Lincoln graduated from Kingston High School in June 1950 after which he joined the United States Air Force for which he proudly served. Lincoln is a Korean War Veteran. Later in life Link moved to Washington DC to pursue a degree at Federal City College in Business Administration. Lincoln had entered into a successful partnership with Martinizing Dry Cleaning business he took pride in pressing close to perfection. Link obtained many several certificates and awards for his dedicated volunteer service at the Veterans Administration in Washington DC. Link was a sports advocate and enjoyed many hours rooting for his favorite teams. Lincoln married the late Alyce Brunetta Cunningham from Montgomery, Alabama and the children survived by this union Lauralotte Harris, Ellena Harris-Smith, Oliver Lincoln Harris Jr., Cornelius Harris, and Jeffrey Harris. Lincoln is also survived by son Shawn Harris and a daughter Letitia Harris. grandchildren, Lauren Grant, Larry Harris, DeAndre Harris, Javan Harris, Iyana Smith, Philip Smith Jr., and London Harris; great grandchildren, Izayah Draughon, Joshua Draughon, Dominic Busey, and Karleigh Busey. Lincoln is also survived by a brother Junious Harris,Jr.. of Kingston, New York, sisters Vergie Harris-Bovelle of Washington, DC, Ruth Harris of Kingston, New York, LaNita Harris-Walker of Charlotte, North Carolina, Linda Harris-Archer (Vicente) of Kingston, New York and brother William Gregory Harris of Washington, DC, also, left to survive are host niece and nephews and cousins, Lincoln is preceded by a sister Maureen Harris, and granddaughter Jovyda Draughon, a niece Tosha N. Walker. Note: It was Lincoln’s request to be funeralized and laid to rest next to his ancestors at Sandy Ridge AME Zion Church in China Gove, North Carolina which his Grandfather helped founded in the year of our Lord of eighteen hundred.
