Niko Gaither-Harbison
February 8, 2020
Niko Michelle Gaither-Harbison, better known as Niki, age 51, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte. She was born on August 4, 1968, in Frederick, MD, to John and Mary Jo Gaither. She was a 1987 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Beckley, WV. She married James Harbison on June 17, 2000. Niko truly loved life through simple pleasure with family and friends, and spending time with her grandsons. She had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Niko is survived by James Harbison, Christopher Harbison, Karen Jacob; son and daughter-in-law, Cameron and Chaz; grandsons; sister, Vanessa Gaither; step-mom, Janet Gaither; step-brother, Steven Gaither; step-sisters, Tanya and Cassidy; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. We are not having a traditional funeral service, as she would rather have people laughing and dancing versus crying and mourning. Therefore, we have planned a wonderful Celebration of Life Event with great food & drinks, the sharing of memories, and a DJ & dancing. Guests will be allowed to share how she touched their lives. Please also feel free to share any of your memories on her Tribute Wall. You may add a photo, memory, or words of condolences. This is a great way to participate if you can’t join us. Please send plants in lieu of flowers. They can be sent to the funeral home and will be picked up the day of service. Proverb 12:28 "In the path of righteousness is life, and in it's pathway there is no death."
