Genesis was a walking angel on earth! Growing up, Genesis was a very courageous little girl. Genesis suffered from a congenital heart defect, where she had to have numerous open-heart surgeries. Genesis never let her condition limit her as a child. She was filled with life and if you didn’t know that she had this condition you would have never known. Genesis loved her family and was close to each, and every one of them. She was known for being loving, caring, stubborn, and spoiled rotten. Genesis loved to dance! She was an active dancer with The Divine Purpose Dance Factory (DPD). At a younger age she also stepped for her neighborhood step team Grier Heights Community Steppers. Genesis loved to travel. One of her favorite places to go was to the beach. She was obsessed with the sound of the ocean’s waves crashing on the beach. Most importantly Genesis had a relationship with the Lord. At the age of 9 years old she was baptized and became a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. She attended Bible study Sunday and attended special holiday programs as much as she could. She enjoyed the word of the Lord. She would sit at the kitchen table with her great-grandmother and read the bible. Genesis fought a long hard fight but now her battle is over. She will truly and deeply be missed by family and friends. Genesis was preceded in death by her sister Hannah McVay Smith, Aunt Keshya Crawford, Great Grandfather William (Bill) McVay, Great Grandmother Spicey Autry and Great Grandfather Clayton Kirkpatrick Sr. Genesis' courageousness and great spirit will forever live through her parents Mother Iyesha McVay-Moore (Step-Father Antione Kendall) and Father Jamaris Smith; Grandparents Ida McVay (Little Ida), Ricky Osborne, Selina Moody, James Moody And Clayton Kirtpatrick; Great Grandparents Ida McVay (Big Ida); Great Grandmother Ella Armstrong; Brothers Cody Smith, Aiden McVay And Zion McVay; Sisters Janhya Worthy- McVay, Talynn Kendall, Madison Smith and Kendall Mcvay; Aunts Brianna Mcvay, Latoya Mcvay Davis, Lakeisha Moody, Shante Kirkpatrick, Joanie McVay and Sarah McVay; Uncles William McVay, Elijah McVay, Christopher Smith, Roderick Davis, Emmanuel Mcvay, Uncle Nookie and Johnathan Armstrong; A Special Great aunt Eleanor Elliott and a Special Uncle Charles McVay; God Mother Ella Harris And a very special guardian angel known to everyone as Paw Paw; A host of special cousins, great aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
