Tara Nicole Acklin

Tara Nicole Acklin was born on February 4, 1986 in Valhalla, New York. Tara lived with her mother, Navae McCrary in Yonkers, NY, and attended High School in Washingtonville, NY. While attending Washingtonville High School, Tara flourished and made a host of friendships which she cherished throughout her life. After graduating from Washingtonville High School, Tara made the journey to Charlotte NC with her mother. Tara was an avid traveler who loved to explore the joys of life. Little did Tara know, she would meet the love of her life in Charlotte NC. One day, as she would say, she was minding her business until she met Tim Warren whom she affectionately referred to as her teddy bear. Tim won her over with his huge smile which was just as distinctive as her own. However, she would let you know that her smile was much prettier and could light up a room. Their relationship spanned over a decade where the two of them shared countless memories, endless laughs and unconditional love. The pinnacle of their relationship was the birth of their son Parker. Parker was truly the proverbial apple of his parents’ eyes. They were the true cliché parents whose world revolved around him anyway, how could it not, have you met Parker? Parker could make his mother smile and sing from her heart with joy. Tara always wanted to be a mommy and Parker was her ultimate gift of love. Parker's parents’ love for him was, and is infectious. Their love could be felt by all who came to know them. Tim says, “Tara is the funniest girl I’ve ever known” and if you truly knew Tara, you would know, without a shadow of doubt, Tim was right. She would crack a joke about you and laugh until you started laughing at yourself. She was a full comedy show around the dinner table and everywhere she went. Tara had a ton of one liners and hilarious sayings that will stay in our hearts and memories forever. Tara thoroughly enjoyed journaling and traveling, especially wherever there was a beach because she was definitely known as “a Selfie Queen”. Tara really loved the camera. Later in life, but way to soon, Tara fell ill to kidney disease where she endured several years of dialysis. However, it never stopped that incredible smile and big personality. At the tender age of 37, Tara succumbed to her illness and passed away peacefully in her sleep at home. Tara leaves behind lots of friends and family. Her parents Navae (Guy S. Jr.) McCrary, and Anthony (Amy) Williams enjoyed the light, love, and laughter their daughter brought into their lives. They would have never imagined having to say goodbye to their child so soon. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Myrtle Jeannette Acklin (NC) and Ronald Acklin Sr. (OH). Tara also leaves behind her living paternal grandparents Frances Barry (AL) and Eddie Saunders (AL). The living maternal McCrary siblings include Chavonne, Kaya, and Guy S. III. Her paternal living Williams siblings include Michael, Janay, and Ahnanda. She leaves behind her tribe of nieces and nephews Harper, Levi, Liam, Genesis, Aubrey, Mar’Lee, Myles and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and loved ones.
