She is survived by her two children, Adejah Erwin-Roseboro (Cameron) and Adarius Erwin, her bonus daughter, Tamekia Glenn, her beloved grandchildren Aviyah, Julius, and Aniyah who carry forward her light, laughter, and lessons. She also leaves behind Her siblings: Patrick Glenn (Sarah), Richard Johnson, Lenore Sings (Brodrick), Jamika Caldwell, and Taniyah Wells. who stood beside her through life’s many seasons, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends who became family. Her spirit lives on in every child she nurtured, every life she touched, and every seed of encouragement she planted. Though she may have transitioned from this physical world, her essence continues in every act of love, every dream she inspired, and every heart she helped shape. ️ Her Passion: Childcare & Legacy From a young age, Tangela Erwin Jones was a force of drive and determination, a woman set on making something of herself and leaving a mark that mattered. After graduating from Fayetteville State University, she began her professional career at First Union National Bank in 1992, and later at Wells Fargo in 1994. She was climbing the corporate ladder, finally seeing the fruits of her ambition. But life asked her to make a decision. While pregnant with her first child, Adejah, Tangela experienced complications that left her bedridden. At a time when she needed support, her job gave her resistance. Faced with pressure about her medical leave and the demands of a system that didn’t honor her body’s needs or her calling as a mother, she stood at a crossroads. She chose legacy. Rather than return to a job that saw her as replaceable, Tangela poured her energy into building something no one could take from her, a sanctuary of care, safety, and structure. She started a home daycare, not just as a business, but as an extension of her heart, a place where her daughter could be safe and other children could be nurtured with the same level of love and purpose. Years later, the very day her son was born, she opened her first licensed childcare facility. Two births. One of life, and one of purpose. What began in a single room grew into a trusted, community-rooted business that impacted hundreds of families. Children who once walked through her doors now return as adults, a living testimony to the warmth, guidance, and structure she provided. Tangela didn’t just care for children , she helped shape identities, nurtured futures, and planted seeds of love and discipline that would grow for generations to come. Her Journey as a Mother Tangela was a mother of 2 who made sure her children had opportunity, structure, and experiences. From sports teams to family vacations, whether to the beach, mountains, or Disney, she created moments that became lifelong memories. Tamekia is a cherished bonus daughter, raised and deeply loved by Tangela, who poured into her with the same fierce devotion she gave her own children. A proud graduate of Garinger High School, Tamekia blossomed into a woman of strength and grace. She rose into leadership as a manager and dedicated her career to serving and uplifting older adults with compassion and care. She is the proud mother of her son, Julius, and is newly engaged — continuing Tangela’s legacy of love, service, and resilience. Tangela’s daughter Adejah graduated from North Carolina Central University in 2020, currently creating new experiences by traveling the world, she has stepped into womanhood with courage and intention. She later married and became a devoted mother, giving Tangela two beautiful grandchildren Aviyah and Aniyah. Her journey reflects the independence, boldness, and nurturing spirit that Tangela instilled in her from the very beginning. Her son Adarius, a graduate of Winston-Salem State University’s Class of 2024, carries his mother’s creative spark and thoughtful nature. He embarked on a meaningful path in videography and storytelling, crafting visuals that speak to the soul. Grounded, focused, and driven, he reflects the steady wisdom and quiet strength that Tangela always modeled. Together, their lives - rooted in faith, ambition, and heart, are living testaments to Tangela’s enduring presence. Her children are not just her legacy; they are her triumph.
