Sidney Bronson

Mr. Sidney Bronson, born June 25, 1941 departed this life at his residence in Charlotte, North Carolina on Monday, September 29, 2014. He was the son of the late Mr. Danny Monroe and the late Mrs. Clara Bogerty and reared by the late Mr. Kenneth M. Bogerty. Sidney was educated in the public schools in Garland, NC and Newport News, VA. Sidney began his Christian walk and became a faithful member of Reconciling the World Ministries (RTWM), under the leadership of Pastor, David Shipman, where he served as the building facilitator until he became ill. Sidney was employed with Mass Transit Authority of New York City for more than 20 years . He had a successful private limousine service for a period of 5 years; was a referee for one of his favorite sports, which was basketball, and worked with Your Destiny After School Program as a driver, until his illness. Sidney leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Loretha Greggs- Bronson. Five sons, Kevin S. Bronson (Sevilla) of Tallahassee FL, Anthony Williams (Sabrina) of Hampton, VA., Alexander (Boot) Sims of Virginia Beach, VA, Erik T. Bronson of Kaneohe, Hawaii, and Everett Bronson of the home. One daughter, Ashaki Bronson-Marcellus (Angelo) of Pembroke Pines, Fl., Six sisters, Kathy Walker of Branford, Conn., Lula M. Bogerty of Dumfries, VA., Ms. Margaret A. Bogerty of Alexanderia, VA., Ruth B. Wright of Desota, TX., Denise Bogerty-Bryant of Newport News, VA., Andra Monroe Newkirk (Otis) of Elizabethtown, NC and one sister preceded him in death, Irene Lowry. One brother, Charles Monroe (Linda) of Garland, NC, Two Aunts, Frances Salisbury of New York City, NY, and Elouise Pope of New Haven, Conn., One great uncle, Thomas Herring, of Portland, OR., and also survived by nine grandchildren, Whitney Bronson, Xavier Bronson, Taylor Bronson, Avery Bronson, Darius Williams, Adrian Williams, Jordan Marcellus, Antonette “Nikki” Williams and Demetrius Staten; Mother In Law, Ilie V. Greggs, of Tabor City, NC, favorite sister in law, Cathy Greggs of Tabor City, NC, Cousin “like sister”, Shirley B. Thomas (James) and former spouse, Margaret A. Bronson, and a host of loving and caring nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
