Sharion White Jackson

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Sharion W. Jackson. Sharion went home to Glory peacefully at the age of 74 on April 30, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born on November 22, 1948, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Mary R. White and Tipp Harris, she was the 7 th child of 13. She grew up in Charlotte, graduated high school, and attended Panama Community College. She married Thomas E. Roddey and traveled with him as he served his country in the United States Army. She settled in Charlotte, where she met Stevenson Jackson, and they later married. Sharion started her career with the United States Postal Service and retired with over 30 years of creditable service. She received numerous accommodations for her dedication to the organization. During her time at the postal service, she made lifelong friends. Sharion was an active member of the New Testament Holiness Church for over 35 years, where she was baptized. Her devotion to her faith was evident in her stewardship. She also participated in the Samaritan Purse Ministry, Operation Christmas Child, annually. After sharing the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus said, “Go and do likewise.” She followed the example of Christ by helping those in need. On occasion, her willingness to help someone in need she opened the doors to her home, providing food and shelter and sharing the word of God. Sharion was involved in many elections serving as an election official for her local voting precinct. Sharion loved to travel, cook, listen to music, and spend time with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her kind, generous spirit and her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Sharion was funny, full of life, and quite a prankster. NOTICE OF CHANGE OF ADDRESS: Family and friends, I wanted to let you know that I have moved. I received a call from God, the Chief Architect, who informed me that my new home is ready and that I could move immediately. My new home is finished, and it is a beautiful sight to behold. It is in an exclusive estate area, and it sits behind a beautiful Pearly Gate, just off a serene celestial shore. I lived in many places before my new home was prepared, and none could compare. There is peace, joy, and happiness here, with no more pain to bear. No strife or discontent; there is only sweet serenity everywhere. I could go on about my new home, but I must get fitted for my wings. Here is my new address: Sharion W. Jackson, 1 Jesus Way, Godstown, Heaven Sharion is survived by her husband, Stevenson Jackson, Charlotte, NC, and her children, Chenise LeDoux (Jerry) Houston, TX; Toriarno Roddey (Angela) Gastonia, NC, Twan Roddey (Misty) Charlotte, NC; Shaune Liendo (Oscar) Hampstead NC, DeSean Jackson, Charlotte NC. Her siblings Mary Mitchell (Jack), Julius White (Manadale), Larry White, John Wayne White, Bennie White, and Ellis White (Patty.) There are ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
