Robert Clifton Brown Jr.

Robert Clifton Brown, Jr.(Bobby), was born on March 8, 1988, to Alisa and Robert Clifton Brown, Sr. in Washington, DC. The news of his arrival caused his grandfather, John Morris, to leap into the air and click his heels. His other grandparents, Donna and Horace Brown, were also filled with excitement in that waiting room. His grandmother, Dora Morris, adored him as soon as she saw him, and his aunt Donna Twyman was the first to visit and hold him. Bobby is survived by his three children, Destiny, Jasmin, and Jonathan Brown; his parents, Alisa Osborne(Mark Osborne), Robert Brown, Sr. (Kassandra Brown); his siblings, Taiquia Tyler (Geoffrey Tyler),Christopher Brown, Joseph Osborne, Jacquelyn Osborne, and Chad Finley (honorary brother); his Grandmother Donna Brown ,his aunts Olivia Fells, Helen Lynch (Bobby Lynch), Darlene Bowyer, Rachel Owen, Monica Osborne, his uncles, Michael Brown(Tanya Brown), Darren Bowyer, Charles Osborne(Martha Osborne) and Alfred Osborne Jr.; his great aunts, Evangeline Robinson(Lawrence Robinson), Cleotria Willson(Donald Willson), Elouise Duncan, Lavonne Sarvis(Renardo Sarvis); a host of cousins, and friends. From a very young age, Bobby liked to play outdoors. His granddaddy, John, taught him how to fish. He also loved to climb, jump, and swing on a rope to cross the creek near the back of our house. The snakes did not scare him. Whenever he went to the zoo, he wanted to visit the reptile center first. One day he would bring home a large old turtle and wanted to keep it as a family pet, until he noticed that the turtle would not take its head out of the shell whenever people were around. When we finally gave him a dog, he made walking it an adventure by letting the dog pull him on a skateboard. Our home was always full of activity. At the age of seven he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and was baptized at Ark of Safety, (formerly Gibbons United Methodist Church) initially located in Brandywine, Maryland (Bishop C. Anthony Muse). In 1998, we began to attend University Park Baptist Church (Bishop Claude R. Alexander), where he enjoyed Sunday School at the Keller Avenue location. He loved to listen to gospel music. Gospel singer Fred Hammond was one of his favorite gospel artists. Bobby loved his family. He never missed an opportunity to fellowship with relatives and friends. He would make sure that he attended whatever family gatherings we had regardless of working long hours that day. He was a great cook, he had a wonderful sense of humor, he was very polite, and he loved to serve in whatever capacity was needed. We shall miss Bobby more than words can express. Although he is gone from us right now, we know we shall see him again. As the scripture says, John 11:25-26, “Jesus said…, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.” Hallelujah!
