Rico Sinclair born on September 19, 1970 in Charlotte, North Carolina to Clarence and Katie Sinclair. Rico transitioned from this early life surrounded by the love of his family and friends on November 8, 2025 at Novant Presbyterian Hospital. Rico was a son, a father, a brother, an uncle, and a friend whose presence left a deep and lasting impact on everyone blessed to know him. Rico attended Eastway Junior High and Garinger High School. During his time in a federal correctional center, he continued his education and proudly earned an associate’s degree in law—showing his determination, intelligence, and commitment to personal growth. He loved singing, dancing, laughing, and watching karate movies. Rico had a joyful, vibrant spirit that could brighten any room. But above all, he was known for his generous heart. Rico loved people fully and freely. Even when he didn’t have much, he shared what he had without hesitation. If someone was hungry, he fed them. If they needed clothes, he gave them the shirt off his back or the shoes off his feet If they needed shelter, he found a way—whether it meant offering his own space, letting someone rest in his car, or finding warmth and safety in the toughest of circumstances. Rain, sleet, or snow—if Rico was with you, he stayed by your side. He embodied hope, love, protection, encouragement, loyalty, and spiritual strength. His kindness wasn’t something he bragged about; it was something he lived every single day. Rico is survived by his children: Sherika Jameson, Donte Clyburn, Kendrick Patrick, and Trenisha Birtha, his loving parents, Clarence and Katie Sinclair, siblings; Latonya Sinclair, Carlos Sinclair, Latoya Sinclair (Adrian), Kona Haggins, Brenda Gibson, ten grandchildren Rico was preceded in death by his son: Shavalos Jameson and his nephew Cairo Robinson. After Rico’s passing, the snowfall in the fall carried a special spiritual meaning for our family. To us, it symbolized purity and cleansing—a gentle sign of his peaceful transition into a new and eternal place. Snow brings quiet and stillness, and in that quiet we felt comfort, as if heaven was reminding us that his soul is at rest. And just as no two snowflakes are alike, grief is unique to every heart. This snowfall felt like a personal message of love, peace, and reassurance. To many, Rico was strength, laughter, loyalty, and comfort. But to those who loved him most, he was pure, unconditional love—uncut, unwavering, and unforgettable. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the people he helped, and the family that will forever carry his spirit in their hearts. May his memory continue to guide, comfort, and inspire.
