And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away. ~ Revelation 21:4 Today, we pause to pay tribute to the memory of Messiah Syncere Terrell, a sweet child full of life and resilience as a son, a brother, a nephew, a grandson, and cousin. He touched the hearts of so many people who were honored and blessed to be in his presence during his short time with us. Messiah, son of Shytilya Springs and Shontrez Terrell, blessed us with his presence on November 22, 2019 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was a vibrant child that loved his favorite blanket and Bluey pillow while watching and rocking to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or Elmo, singing the ABC songs and many other videos on his blue tablet. He spent time outdoors on sunny days, playing with bubbles and running around the backyard with his mother. He also loved running throughout the house chasing and playing with his siblings. Messiah didn’t get his name “Messiah the Fighter” for nothing. He fought his way through life and would punch you too if you got too close, lol. His warm smile is unmatched! The way he was still happy no matter what his circumstances were. A true angel on earth. He touched so many people, known and unknown, just by his story and his strength alone. The memories will always be treasured and never lost; the joy he gave we are everlasting. He is no longer in pain or restrained but free, in eternity, to watch over us all as the true guardian angel he is. On Thursday, August 7, 2025, Messiah Syncere Terrell gained his heavenly wings. He is survived by his siblings Camren (aged 15), Sayvion (aged 7), and Asharyi (aged 10), who passed away before him. His grandmother, Kisha Mims (Dwayne) ; his grandfather, Voderick Springs Sr. (Shad), on his maternal side, his great grandmother, Ramona Collins-Sanka (John); his great grandfather, Alvin Johnson (Myra); on his paternal side, his grandmother Malonda Metcalf (Eric); his grandfather, Amare Terrell and a host of aunts and uncles, cousins, and his godmother. Messiah’s vibrant spirit and treasured memories will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Today we will honor and celebrate his life in peace, simply for the amazing child. May he rest in heavenly peace.
