Juanita Fryer

Mrs. Juanita Fryer born April 27, 1944 in Charlotte N.C. to the late Ellen McCoy and Charles Alexander. Juanita departed this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May19, 2026 in Charlotte NC. Juanita was 2nd -3rd Generation of Charlotte Native, she embodied that spirit of Charlotte. She grew up in the Brooklyn Community. She was there through her teenage years. The experience of growing up in Brooklyn enabled her to be a strong caring and independent woman. These were the types of women they had in Brooklyn. It was a close net community. This is what contributed to her being a loving mother and great grandmother. She attended Second Ward high School, where she was very popular and well liked. She married Edward “Sonny” Fryer, who was the love of her life. This union produced 4 wonderful children. Jaunita was a longtime member of Greater Galilee Baptist Church and a faithful Sunday School teacher for several years before becoming a member of St. Paul Baptist Church. Juanita retired from Mercy Hospital as an Environmental Services Representative after 20 years of service. Later went back to work part time at Cypress of Charlotte. Juanita was a loving and kindhearted woman, always helping others and always giving. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, the light that sparkled in her eyes and the smile on her face; when she would see all the grands and great grands gather together. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Fryer Sr. “Sonny” Daughter, Joyce Fryer, Son Edward Fryer “Chico”. Juanita leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters Karen Fryer Griffin, Sandra Fryer of Charlotte NC. Grandchildren: Santara Fryer, Zandra Fryer, Jamison Fryer, Kandra and Jacobie Fryer of Charlotte NC. Great-Grandchildren: Kayla Danner, Laylen Reese, Mason Moss, Allie Moss, Kali Thompson and Seven Fryer of Charlotte NC. Sister-In-Law: Dr. Angelia Fryer: Nephews Henry Fryer “Butch” and Harvey Fryer “Brother” and Niece Lillie Mae Fryer “Sister”, Great Nephew: Donald Fryer “Dad” and Great -Great Niece, Blossom Fryer. Juanita was loved and cared for by her entire family including her God-Son Michael Beasley. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and soul as she continued to live through some of life’s challenges. Juanita will be missed but always celebrated.
