Joseph Paul Jordan

Mr. Joseph Paul Jordan, son of Reverend Harold and Lois Newman Jordan was born November 7, 1961 in Marietta, Ga. (Cobb County). He departed his life on April 4, 2017, at the W.M. (Bill) Heffner VA Medical Center Hospice in Salisbury, NC. Known to his daughters as “Daddy” his North Carolina friends and family as “Joseph” but his Jordan family called him “Paul”. Joseph was educated in Cobb County School System where he graduated from North Cobb High School in Kennesaw, GA.in 1980. He graduated from Fayetteville Tech with his certificate to be a Chef. After school He joined the Army and became an 82nd Airborne Paratrooper which was his proudest moment being able to wear the burgundy beret. During his military years he loved to scuba dive and cook. He is known for his famous omelets and peach cobbler. His greatest achievement was his two daughters Devin Jordan Lewis and Jaeda Jordan. His favorite pass time was watching TV and spending time with his grandchildren Jyrah, Jordan, Josiah Jordan, and Laila Lewis. He confessed his faith in good and bad times and loved the Lord. He was a member of Bringing Forth the Word Ministry Charlotte, NC. He was known as a great counselor and a friend to all that loved him. He had a quirky kind of sense of humor and that’s what we loved about him. He retired from the Army in 2002 and he took it literally. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Lois Newman; two sisters Freda Jordan and Eleanor Boatwright; two brothers Walter Jordan and Jerome Jordan; two brothers in laws Alfred Boatwright and Jimmy Brackery. He’s survived by his wife Mrs. Sylvia Jordan. Left to cherish precious memories are his two daughters; Devin Jordan Lewis (Akeem), Jaeda Jordan; seven sisters Hannah Jordan, Nona Jordan, Vanessa Jordan-Peebles (Williams), Elizabeth Jordan Gober, Sarah Jordan, Dorothy Jordan Freeman, Reba Brackery; three brothers Forest “Bubba” Jordan (Frances), David Jordan, and Acea Bryant; one sister in law Monica Jordan all of Georgia.; three grandchildren Jyrah, Josiah, and Laila; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. One of his favorite sayings was who loves you most? God and Me.
