Felicia Lynn Byrd

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Felicia Lynn Byrd of Charlotte, NC. Felicia passed away on Friday, November 29, surrounded by her beloved family. The youngest of six children, Felicia Lynn Byrd was born on November 4, 1962, to Evelyn and William Byrd. She grew up and attended high school in Weirton, WV and graduated from Fairmont University in Fairmont, WV. She went on to earn a master’s degree in organizational development from American University while juggling her career and family. Felicia and former husband Claudie Johnson have two sons, Cameron (24) and Christian (33) Johnson. She loved being a “boy mom” and was very proud of both of her sons. Christian and Cameron attended and hold undergraduate degrees from North Carolina State University. Christian later completed a master’s degree in Physiology and currently works as an Anesthesia Tech in a hospital operating room. Cameron followed in his mother’s footsteps and works in the banking industry at Ally Bank. He also served as his mother’s caregiver as she reached the end of her life. During her long tenure at Wells Fargo, Felicia was named in the 2011 “Who’s Who in Black Charlotte” publication. She launched her own company, F. Byrd Consulting Group, LLC in 2018. Felicia was sought after for her expertise in business and strategic leadership, organizational development, culture and change management. She was well-known as a thoughtful leader and coach with a passion and commitment to developing talent and championing diversity and inclusion. Felicia recently took her sons on a trip to Europe and enjoyed Italy most. She loved and recorded all kinds of daytime judge courtroom shows and also enjoyed the many (many!) series from Dick Wolf. Finally, she had a soft spot for her two fur babies Cosmo and Reese. Felicia was predeceased by her parents William and Evelyn Byrd, brothers David and Robert (Shirley) and sister Wilma. She is survived by family members Kathryn, Troy (Kim), Tara and Makeda Parrish; Anthony (Michelle), Karl and David (Mandy) Byrd and Cassidy (Nick) DiGiorgi; Leslie (John) and Kiersten Morris. Felicia also had a host of great-nieces and nephews, friends and community members whose lives she touched. Felicia Lynn Byrd is already dearly missed.
