Candise Griffin! How old are you Carter? “I’m dis”. Not with your fingers Papa, use your words.... I’m Seben! No you’re not. How old are you? (laughs) I”m tweee”;... He was 3 years old. When he uttered Yay as a baby while I was playing with him saying yay, I called him Yay. When he started walking and became a strong boy, I called him Man and when he started acting like my protector I called him PaPa. He was strong like Hulk, fast like Sonic and cool like Spiderman. Carter could freeze you in place by shooting spider webs out of his fingers at you, but he could also fill any heart with happiness and laughter.... that was his real super power. We loved him and you would too if you knew him. But some superheroes don’t get to reside here on earth. Some watch over us from heaven. On February 21, 2024 Carter was called back by God to God’s Kingdom. On July 1, 2024 Carter would have been 4 years old. He would have had as much green apple Jello as he wanted, his party would have been by the beach, we would have packed it with as many of his favorite characters as we could, and he would have spent the day running fast like sonic between amusement park rides and the arcade. We may not have made it there together Carter but we will always celebrate your birthday. Your sisters Jaona, Maiana, Dynasti, Queen, Cherish and Eden will always love you, miss you and carry your memory with them. Your brothers Dajhan, Rodney (RJ), and Chanix (Chan) will never forget you. You will always be in their hearts. Stephanie says she loves you, you were he baby too and this time God “opened da door”. Your mother, Candise, will never be the same without you. You’ll always be the apple of her eye. Mommy Shani says even though you’re up in the sky with God now “member” you can still do anything you put your “mind to?”...Yes! “Mind to”. As for me ... You were my sun and moon, my days started and ended with you. You said I was Batman but called me your “Star” … I was always there, even when you couldn’t see me. Seems like we’ve traded places. I’m going to take the little Batman back home but carry it in your heart PaPa because I will come back for it “fast like sonic” no matter where you are. Daddy was blessed to have you. Tell God an eternity would not have been long enough but it was an honor to be the one you called “Star” and Daddy. You were handsome and perfect from head to toe - you were beautiful.
