Louise Galloway

Louise “Mimaw” Galloway (age 94) departed earth peacefully on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in Charlotte, NC. Louise was born in Alleghany County (Pittsburg), PA to Love and Blanche Osborne on June 16, 1921. She graduated from South High School, where she then had a long career as a Clerical Supervisor with the State of PA. In 1955 she married Charles (Buddy) Galloway Sr. and was a devoted wife and mother to two beautiful children (Patricia and Charles (Chip), Jr.) Her family remembers her as being very quiet, reserved, religious and, independent. Never wanting to draw attention to herself; yet always willing to be there for them with their every need. Upon retirement Louise was able to enjoy her love and passion for travel. She enjoyed visiting a multitude of places with her loved ones, family, church members and travel groups. Her excursions included trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Italy, Nova Scotia and dozens of others. Her most proud and memorable destination was her trip to the holy land of Israel, where she was able to experience the holy city of Jerusalem. Louise genuinely loved and knew the Lord and was a long time member of Pittsburgh’s Baptist Temple Church. Commonly known as Mimaw, Louise was also a loving aunt, grand and great grandmother. She moved to Charlotte, NC the fall of 2006, where she spent time with her family, new extended family of neighbors, “adopted grand children” and a host of loving caregivers at Elliot Manor who quickly grew to love and care for Mimaw as their own “Ms. Louise” and “Momma”. Known for her soft demeanor yet witty remarks, she had a personality like none other. Although she could no longer speak, she would often hum. The night prior to her passing, her roommate heard her praying and she was even heard humming hymns the morning the Lord called her home. Her parents Love and Blanche Osborne; husband Charles Galloway Sr.; daughter Patricia Turner; sisters Ruth Turner, Alice Conley and Gertrude Galloway and brother Steve Osborne preceded Louise in death. She is survived by son Charles Galloway, Jr. and daughter-in-law (Cyndy Galloway), grandchildren Dawn Segura, Louis Turner, Charles Galloway III (Glenda Galloway) and Nicki Galloway. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren Luis Segura, Nicholas Segura, Gabrielle Galloway and Danielle Galloway, great-great granddaughter Sienna Segura and a host of nieces and nephews. Mimaw, we love you and you will be missed!
